Turn Catalina Island-Avalon into a giant game board with this fun scavenger hunt adventure! This challenge combines the excitement of the Amazing Race with a 3-hour city walking tour. Guided from any smart phone, teams make their way among well known and overlooked gems of the city, solving clues and completing challenges while learning local history. Note: Pricing is per individual, but teams must book together in order to be included in the same adventure.

The adventure begins in the heart of Avalon and takes you on a well-designed course among historic monuments and quaint streets of the city, out to the famous casino and to other hidden gems of this island town. The tour requires approximately 2 miles of walking, with numerous stops along the route to complete challenges and decipher clues. The game software tracks team points and posts the final score to a city leaderboard for those with a competitive edge.

Using your smart phone as “the guide” allows participants to start when they want and determine their own pace of play, leaving time to stop for a bite to eat or simply to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Great for families, friends and those ready to have fun while seeing the city!

Choose from three tours, walking, biking or one that uses a Golf Cart for half the adventure (golf cart rented separately from a different company on the island; no reservation necessary).

Please note that pricing is per individual but your team must book together. One voucher is valid for your team of 2-5 people.

Enjoy a round of nine holes on Catalina Island. Originally built in 1892, the Catalina Island Golf Course is the oldest operating golf course along the west coast of the U.S. The former home of the Bobby Jones Invitational Tournament, the 2,100-yard (1,920-meter) course has nine challenging holes and two sets of tees for 18-hole play. A fully stocked pro shop, rental clubs, and pull or electric carts are available for an additional fee.

Check in at the pro shop at the Catalina Island Golf Course for your 9-hole round.

First designed with just three holes, this golf course at the Catalina Island Country Club was expanded to nine holes in the early 1900s, and in 1929 was made into an 18-hole tournament-worthy course. During World War II, the course fell into disrepair but was brought back to life in 1945. Since 1967, the Avalon Men's Golf Club has sponsored the Catalina Island Junior Golf Tournament; golfers who played in this tournament and went on to greater fame include Craig Stadler, Corey Pavin, and Tiger Woods, who first played here at age 4 and then again at 14.

During your round, you'll play the current five par-4 and four par-3 holes, following the long and narrow course as it meanders through a canyon setting toward the ocean (watch out for deer, hawks, and island foxes who frequent the area). The small greens and deep bunkers are enough to challenge any golfer. A driving net is available.
