The 8.2-mile round trip Harding Icefield Trail is a spectacular day hike. Starting on the valley floor, the trail winds through cottonwood and alder forests, passes though heather filled meadows and ultimately climbs well above tree line to a breath-taking view of the Harding Icefield. The top of the trail is a window to past ice ages – a horizon of ice and snow that stretches as far as the eye can see, broken only by an occasional nunatak, or lonely peak.

This adventure is strenuous! You’ll gain approximately 1,000 feet of elevation with every mile. We allow at least 6-8 hours for the hike. The view from the top is well worth the effort, and an absolutely amazing experience  to see the wonders of this area!

Learn to packraft in the Alaskan wilderness on an exhilarating instructional-based packrafting adventure in the heart of the Kenai Peninsula! Daily departures from Seward, AK!

Your trip begins in Seward when your guide picks you up from your place of lodging, and you embark on the beautiful drive to the headwaters of the Kenai River. On the edge of Kenai Lake, your KBA guide will show you how to inflate your packraft and instructs you on the basics of paddling a packraft and boating safety. With expert Packrafting instruction, you’ll spend 1-2 hours learning Packrafting skills and techniques on the lake. This will provide you time to get the feel for the packraft and offers opportunities to learn paddling techniques while taking in the breathtaking landscape.

Once everyone has paddled around for a while and feels comfortable in the packraft we break for a shoreside lunch. After lunch and a little more instruction you begin your journey down a 7 mile stretch of the mighty Kenai River. The river starts off nice and smooth, but with a swiftness that will quickly garner your attention and respect. The river is mostly class I-II, to II+ depending on water levels.

The majority of your time consists of packrafting and we may have time to practice advanced maneuvers, and re-run a few rapid sections. You may have tremendous wildlife sightings on this trip, so you’ll get every chance to pull over and snap photos. We finish the trip with a nice, scenic river float to the take-out, followed by some hoots and hollers and high-fives!

You'll enjoy the scenic ride back to Seward and be dropped off at your lodging accommodations, train depot, or cruise ship port depending on your travel arrangements. This is an all encompassing, epic Alaska packrafting adventure on one of the most scenic river sections in this part of Alaska. Book now!

A 3-hour adventure of a lifetime awaits on this spectacular helicopter fly-in glacier tour in Seward, Alaska. Enjoy intimate and remote helicopter access to a secluded glacial environment for a private guided ice hiking tour. See the sights of Seward and participate in some trekking along the uneven fields in this journey.

Meet your guide at a central location, then make your way to the Seward Airport. There, the helicopter trip will take you soaring over rugged mountain peaks to a remote glaciated valley. Dramatically flowing out of an isolated alpine ice field, your destination just south of Godwin glacier presents some of the most exciting glacier hiking in the state.

The helicopter lands right at the glacier where you will be outfitted with crampons, helmets and ice axes. A professional and expert guide will then instruct you on how to safely travel on the glacier before you take off to explore an ancient frozen river. Spending approximately 2 hours on the ice with your guide, you will explore the fascinating terrain and features of the glacier on this tour: moulins, crevasses, massive waterfalls and rivers of melt water on top of the ice.

This tour's difficulty is highly customizable depending on your preference. There will be a lot of terrain available for trekking, so the guides can cater to how much or how little you want to travel around on the glacier in the time available. When the helicopter returns, you have the option of a customized flight seeing tour of your choosing. Soar through huge icebergs in a glacial lagoon, fly over one North America’s largest Icefields, or explore the stark mountainous topography carved from the last ice age surrounding Seward.

Explore a glacier on this guided, 4.5-hour, helicopter-assisted hiking excursion in Seaward, Alaska. This trip affords the opportunity to be led into a place that few people have ever been. This helicopter exploration trip is an experience for those wanting to not only see and walk on a glacier, but to truly explore one as well. All the necessary technical gear, plus snacks, backpacks, trekking poles, and water are included.

The helicopter leaves from Seward, Alaska's local airport, and the views from the flight up to the ice are spectacular. After flying through an alpine canyon, the helicopter lands relatively close to glacier access — just a short hike to the ice.

With guidance, hike deep into the glacier’s crevasse fields on a tour to get up close with the awesome power and beauty of this massive mountain of ice. Up higher, in the faster moving sections of the glacier where the landscape is still being created, it's possible to almost feel the ancient flow of ice make its way down the valley.

After the hiking tour is done, the helicopter takes a thrilling canyon run down the mountain and over Resurrection Bay back to Seward.

This tour provides the hardy hiker with three hours of exploration, plenty of time to become intimately acquainted with what feels like another world.

This tour is permitted with the Chugach National Forest. All the necessary gear is included — plus snacks and water.
